Tauhara 2 Geothermal Project Concept Design
MTL were engaged by Contact Energy Ltd to provide a concept station and steamfield design based on proposed well enthalpies and flows. MTL provided advice on appropriate technologies for the proposed power station, an economic arrangement of steamfield and generating units, and first order project costing.
Contact Energy has become the first NZ Company to have a power station proposal referred to an independent board of inquiry under the fledgling Environmental Protection Authority. The hearing for this station is due to be completed by the end of 2010.
